This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the original. Due to its age, it may contain imperfections such as marks, notations, marginalia and flawed pages. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions that are true to the original work.

The Complete Lectures of Col R G Ingersoll R G Ingersoll Books

This booklet (it's only 84 pages) does NOT contain the complete lectures of R.G. Ingersoll. On the contrary, quite a lot of Ingersoll's more famous lectures are not included. I don't know how they get away with calling this edition "complete." I bought it for a friend who's well acquainted with Ingersoll's work, and he was very disappointed and surprised that it was as incomplete as it is. It was returned immediately. And the price is rather steep for a "book" of this skimpy size. If you enjoyed the content of this book, look further and find an edition that is indeed "complete."

The Complete Lectures of Col R G Ingersoll R G Ingersoll Books Reviews

This is an absolutely fantastic book in which Ingersoll masterfully and poetically champions freethought and theological criticism. Although the first edition was written during the late nineteenth century, it is remarkable how it still speaks to the freethinker tradition. In my opinion, it should be read by every freethinker out there, as well as those who are intellectually curious about freethought and the arguments against organized religion. To say the least, Ingersoll's wit, sarcasm, and verbosity had me glued to every page. In fact, I would even wager that of all the books I have ever read in my lifetime this book has been my absolute favorite.
Robert Ingersoll could outwit and out argue just about anyone-- even in his childhood days. To read his logic is to say to yourself, "Why didn't I think of that!" Here's an example He points out in Genesis that light and dark were created on the first day and the sun was created on the third day. Well, anyone who studied physics in college knows you can not have light without a light source. I studied physics, but before that I studied religion in Sunday school. Religionists are very good at indoctrinating and brainwashing their young followers. When I went to college I soaked up Ingersoll's works like a sponge. I needed the truth and set my mind straight. If you are a humanist, an agnostic or perhaps intellectually curious, you will enjoy reading and studying any or all of the lectures of Robert Ingersoll.
Mr. Ingersoll was one smart man. And these lectures are still timely.
Just as much pithy, wit, logic, query and polite disrespect as the new Atheists, rational men and critical thinkers of today... except more!
